Gus Franklin Families, Students, and Community

Welcome to Gus Franklin STEM Academy.

I am so excited to be your principal and look forward to working with all of you. Our goal is to support our families, and our students. We know that this can be challenging at times, please don't hesitate to reach out to us for support and assistance.

We are a STEM School with our focus on providing an outstanding STEM curriculum through Project Lead the Way (PLTW) which is aligned to the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). Our STEM vision is to ignite the spark of global ingenuity, creativity and imagination within all our students. We will still provide this learning online. We are also a Positive Behavior Intervention and Support school (PBIS). We believe that all students can learn and grow in a positive environment and work hard to provide opportunities for our school community to flourish. Our SOAR expectation provides a safe and supportive learning environment for our students. At Gus, we focus on the whole child focusing on academics, behavior, and social emotional learning at all grade levels.  Our Teachers and Staff are dedicated to our students and have high expectations for all learners. We are committed to providing a safe, respectful, and responsible environment for their academic and social success. Our goal is to prepare our students for the 21st century and to become life long learners.

It is important that our students and families stay connected to the school. You can do this by becoming involved in our school activities and events, and by becoming an approved volunteer and a member of PTA.

I want to thank you for making Gus Franklin STEM Academy one of the top performing schools in the Adelanto School District. We are honored to have you as part of our learning community.  Please feel free to contact me at niccole_petersen@aesd.net or contact the office.

Sincerely,

Niccole Petersen
